When audio does not play during gameplay, the situation may be related to your Nintendo Switch settings or connected devices.
Please try the following steps in order.
-
Confirm the in-game volume settings
If the in-game settings include an option such as "Audio Volume", ensure that the sound is not muted, and increase the volume. -
Confirm output settings (for TV Mode)
If you are using TV mode:- Go to the console's HOME menu > "System Settings" > "TV Settings" > "TV Sound."
-
If TV Sound is set to "Surround Sound", change it to "Stereo" or "Automatic."
-
Check earphones or headphones
If you are using earphones, remove them to see if you can hear the sound. If the sound plays normally after removing them, the issue may be with your earphones/headphones or their compatibility with the Switch console.
In that case, please consider contacting their manufacturer or Nintendo support. -
Turn off your console then turn it back on
Turn off your console completely, wait a few minutes, then turn it back on.
For instructions on how to turn it off, please refer to the Nintendo Support page "How to Power Off the Nintendo Switch Console."

-
Delete and reinstall the game
