Please try the following steps in order, as they may help resolve the issue.

Update the controller software
For instructions on how to update it, please refer to the Nintendo Support page "How to Update the Controller Firmware on Nintendo Switch." -
Try using another controller
If you have another controller, try connecting it to see if it works properly.

Update the Nintendo Switch System to the latest version
On the HOME menu on the Nintendo Switch console, select "System Settings" > "System" > "System Update."
To confirm the current latest system version, refer to Nintendo Support page "Updating Your Nintendo Switch Console."

Update the game software to the latest version
- On the HOME menu on the Nintendo Switch console, place the cursor over the game icon.
- Press the plus (+) button or minus (-) button.

Select "Software Update."

Power off the Nintendo Switch console completely, then turn it back on after a few minutes

Note: This is different from putting the device into "Sleep Mode" by briefly pressing the power button once. -
Check for Corrupt Data
- On the HOME menu on the Nintendo Switch console, select "System Settings" > "Data Management" > "Manage Software", and select this game.

Select "Check for Corrupt Data."

Delete the game software, and re-install it
Note: This operation will not delete your save data.
- From HOME menu on the Nintendo Switch console, select "System Settings" > "Data Management" > "Manage Software," and select this game.
- Select "Delete Software."
- Re-install the game software.
The digital version of the game and DLC, including bonus contents, can be re-downloaded from the Nintendo eShop. If you own any DLC, please redownload all of them.
