【Nioh 3/Steam】Events are skipped or cutscenes do not play

Please try the following steps to see if this resolves the issue.
Note: Any changes to hardware or peripheral settings are at your own risk.

1. Go to System > Game Settings, then on the third page, check the "Cutscene Skip" setting.

   If it is set to "On" or "Skip already-seen dialogue," cutscenes and events will be automatically skipped.

    

2. Install the VP9 Video Extensions (free) from the Microsoft Store. 

   Note: Although the page mentions Windows 10, please also try installing it on Windows 11.

    

3.  (Only if you are using an NVIDIA graphics card) please adjust the program settings as follows:

   1. Right-click on the desktop and select the NVIDIA Control Panel.  
   2. Go to "3D Settings" > "Manage 3D Settings."  
   3. In the "Program Settings" tab, set "Antialiasing - Mode" to "Enhance the application setting."  
   4. Click Apply, then close the NVIDIA Control Panel.

    

4. If you have installed any third-party video playback software or codecs, consider uninstalling them, as they may interfere with playback.
