Depending on the game software, input from Nintendo Switch Pro Controller may not be recognized when used in "Handheld Mode" (with Joy-Con attached to the console.)
In that case, try using the controller in "Tabletop Mode" (with Joy-Con detached from the console) or "TV Mode" (with the console docked and connected to a TV.)
■ For Nintendo Switch Lite:
-
Update the Nintendo Switch Lite system from the HOME menu > "System Settings" > "System" > "System Update."
-
Make sure that the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is connected to the console.
For instructions on wireless connection, please refer to the Nintendo support page "Q&A[Switch] I'd like to pair a controller that I'm using for the first time with my console."
-
From the HOME menu, go to "System Settings" > "Controllers and Sensors", and select "Console Button Input" to turn it "OFF."
Note: If no wireless controller is connected, you cannot set this to "OFF."
Note: When the console enters sleep mode or restarts, this setting will automatically revert to "ON." - Launch the game and confirm that the controller works properly.
